This policy explains how PDFLABS handles information when you visit pdflabs.in and use the tools currently available on this site.

File processing

Many tools process files locally in your browser, including image utilities, PDF text extraction, the scanner, batch renaming, form editing, and translation. These tools do not send the source document to PDFLABS for processing. The translation feature downloads its selected language model from Hugging Face on first use; document text is processed in your browser and is not sent to that model host.

Some PDF tools upload the selected file to a PDFLABS processing endpoint: Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Repair PDF, Word to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, Excel to PDF, and PDF to PDF/A. The file is processed to produce the requested output and is not saved to a PDFLABS user account or document database. Protect PDF and Unlock PDF use temporary files on the application server; those files are removed after successful processing, but a failed request or host interruption may prevent cleanup. Do not upload confidential files unless you accept this server-side processing.

Files processed in your browser may remain in browser memory or downloads. Close the page when finished, and avoid using a shared device for sensitive documents.

Basic site information

Our hosting provider may process standard connection information, such as IP address, browser type, and request time, to deliver and protect the website. PDFLABS does not ask you to create an account to use the current tools.

Advertising and cookies

PDFLABS loads Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads, subject to applicable rules and your settings. Third-party services

Google, Hugging Face model hosting, and our website hosting provider operate under their own privacy policies. PDFLABS does not control information those providers collect directly, such as requests needed to deliver ads, models, or website content.

Children and policy updates

The website is a general-purpose utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. We may update this policy when tools or site services change; the revision date will be updated on this page.
